T Level roles

T Levels are a new course that will give 16–19-year-old learners the technical knowledge and practical skills that are valued by the industry; T Levels follow immediately after GCSEs as a technical alternative to A-Levels.  They are the biggest reform to vocational training in a generation, giving learners the skills, knowledge, and attitude to excel in their chosen careers.

T Levels are available in England only.

City & Guilds is now looking to recruit for T-Level Associates for the following areas which we have been successful in winning the national contract to deliver. 

  • Principal Moderators (T Levels)

  • Technical Qualification Associates (TQA)

      We are looking for T Level TQ Associates (TQA) to join us for this qualification area for the next academic year. Your application will be considered for training and recruitment December-January.

      We do have lots of other Associate Vacancies, which you may be interested in.

       

      Key Elements of the Role 

      All T Level Providers will need to gain Approval to deliver the T Level qualification.  

      The basic activities of the role would be to:  

      - Support the Provider in preparation for the Approval submission   

      - Review the Approval Application, carry out Provider visits (where relevant) and review supporting  documentation and physical resources 

      - Following approval, provide ongoing support on an annual basis to Providers 

      What are the timescales?  

      Please see below the planned timeline of the activities for the T Level TQ Associate (TQA) role:  

      Training & Induction:  January and February 

      2 half day remote induction sessions with follow up support sessions where required.  

      Approval Window: February - June 

      Provide enhanced support to providers prior to the submission of the Approval application (half day) 

      Carry out the approval activity (1 day/7 hours)  

      Post Approval: July - September  

      Provide post approval support (up to half day)  

      Overall, the actual time spent with each provider might differ slightly as some providers will be more prepared and up to speed than others, but we anticipate between 2 to 3 days of TQA activity per provider.

  • Chair of Examiners (T Levels)

      We are currently looking for Chair of examiner role for covering all assessments within the following Technical Qualification:

      Onsite- Construction, covering:

      • Plastering
      • Painting & Decorating
      • Carpentry & Joinery
      • Bricklaying

  • Moderators ( T Levels)

      As a T Levels Moderator you will:

      • Carry out provider visits between February and May.
      • Moderate Provider marking - conduct and document moderation, quality assurance and advisory activities with Providers, in line with quality assurance guidelines
      • Provide advice and guidance to Providers on moderation and marking of the internally assessed, externally moderated / validated assessments
      • Produce City & Guilds and Provider reports and feedback on quality of marking / assessment, collection of evidence, issues identified through the moderation process and best practice
      • Participate in training and standardisation activities to ensure continued improvement and consistent performance as a moderator
