T Level roles

T Levels are a new course that will give 16–19-year-old learners the technical knowledge and practical skills that are valued by the industry; T Levels follow immediately after GCSEs as a technical alternative to A-Levels.  They are the biggest reform to vocational training in a generation, giving learners the skills, knowledge, and attitude to excel in their chosen careers.

City & Guilds is now looking to recruit for T-Level Associates for the following areas which we have been successful in winning the national contract to deliver.

      What is the role?

      The key elements of the role include. 

      • All T Level Providers will need to gain Approval to deliver the T Level qualification. 
      • The basic activities of the role would be to: 
      • Support the Provider in preparation for the Approval submission 
      • Review the Approval Application and supporting documentation submitted by the Provider 
      • Carry out a session with the provider team to review the submission and physical resources 
      • Provide a support session to the delivery team ahead of the start of the programme 

      How does the role work? 

      All training and TQA activities are currently being carried out remotely with some need for video conferencing. In future you may be required to visit providers. 

      The aim is for Approval Associates to be allocated 2-5 Providers, but this will of course depend on demand. 

      What are the timescales? 

      Please see a rough timeline of activity we think each T Level TQ Associate (TQA) will require for the role: 

      Training & Induction – early November 

      1 day remote induction with follow up training sessions where required 

      Pre-approval support – December/January 

      After you have attended training, you will be allocated providers (we are hoping to allocate no more than 5 providers per TQA).  You will need to book 2 x 2 hr support webinars with each provider. 

      Approval window – March to May 

      Review eligible provider approval applications (1 day/ 7 hours) 

      Post Approval – May - July 

      Provide approval support (up to half day) 

      The actual time spent with each provider might differ slightly as some providers will be more prepared and up to speed than others, but we anticipate between 1.5 and 2 days of TQA activity per provider.
