At the City & Guilds Group your health and wellbeing is very important to us. We understand that the success of our organisation requires our staff to be both physically and mentally healthy. However, we all have times in our lives when we or our families may become unwell. So the Group offers some excellent employee benefits and services to support our staff though these times.
Private medical insurance
We’ll pay for your private medical insurance from day one. However, you can also pay to increase your level of cover or cover your partner or family.
This benefit takes the worry out of dental care, as you and your family can claim money back on a wide range of private and NHS dental treatments. With different levels of insurance available you can choose to pay for the cover that suits you the best.
Through our specially negotiated rates, you and your partner can enjoy the equivalent of a full body MOT. Health assessments provide a picture of your own wellness and can identify potential problems before they become serious. You can choose the type and level of assessment that is best for you.
Your eyesight is precious. So, to help you look after your health, we’ll give you a voucher for a free eye test at one of our preferred partners. The voucher also entitles you to a free pair of VDU glasses if they are prescribed.
Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
If you ever need to talk to someone about a problem at home or work – our EAP provides support when it matters. Through a 24/7 helpline you can get confidential and professional advice on a wide range of wellbeing, financial, legal, personal and work related issues.
It’s always best to be prepared for the unexpected. So, we provide all of our employees with Life Assurance Cover as soon as they join. If you die whilst in our employment, your family, dependants or nominated beneficiary would receive a one off tax-free payment of up to four times your basic annual salary. This cover can be increased to a maximum of 10 times your salary or reduced to two times your salary - depending on your personal circumstances.
Critical illness insurance
This voluntary benefit pays out a cash lump sum if you’re diagnosed with a critical illness. You can select the level of cover that suits you and also choose to cover your partner.
We provide full support to enable all our staff to perform their roles in a variety of ways such as wheelchair-accessible buildings, flexible working and adjustable workstations.
